Meet the Low Rider® El Diablo
The FRXT Sport Glide was available throughout most of the 1980s and a bit into the 1990s. It was one of the most legendary Harley-Davidson® motorcycles to come out of that period. It has become even more iconic in the decades since, and it still serves as inspiration for custom Low Rider®s. Low Rider®s continue to be popular with riders in and near Atlanta Georgia. A Low Rider® is a style of cruiser that was popularized on the West Coast. The current Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® is inspired by those classic rides but designed with today’s rider in mind. There are three Low Rider® models. The Low Rider® S is the entry model. The Low Rider® ST enhances that package by being inspired by bikes like the FRXT Sport Glide, and the Low Rider® El Diablo takes that to another with a custom and exclusive paint scheme.
Is the Low Rider® El Diablo the Right Bike for You
In determining whether the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® El Diablo is the right choice for you, you really need to start with the Low Rider® S and Low Rider® ST. The Low Rider® S is a cruiser that’s designed to be comfortable and fun to ride while delivering more performance than your typical cruiser. The Low Rider® ST enhances that experience with a frame-mounted fairing and saddlebags, and both of those additions help to make it a better choice for longer rides. You also get that SoCal style, such as the taller handlebars and the lifted rear suspension. If you do decide that the Low Rider® ST is the bike for you, then it’s not much additional cost to move up to Low Rider® El Diablo. You may want to do that because you love the 80s style or simply want something that turns heads more than Vivid Black or Gunship Gray.
Characteristics of the Low Rider® El Diablo
The Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin is the standard engine with all Low Rider® models. All of these models feature mid foot controls and put you in an upright riding position. As mentioned, a notable difference between the Low Rider® ST and the Low Rider® S is that it has the frame-mounted fairing, and even on the Low Rider® ST, it has been inspired by the 80’s Sport Glide fairing but, of course, with all of the computer-aided process that they use today. The big difference between the Low Rider® El Diablo and the Low Rider® ST is that classic aesthetic. No other motorcycle currently in the H-D® lineup has a look like this, and the Low Rider® ST is only currently available in more muted colors, such as blacks and grays.
Limited and Custom
Icons is a concept that Harley-Davidson® has introduced for the 2022 model year. The intention is to introduce a new Icon each model year that will be capped at just 1,500 units. The first Icon was the 2021 Electra Glide Revival, which was a big hit with riders in and near Atlanta Georgia. The second is the Low Rider® El Diablo, and we strongly encourager you to test ride the 2022 Harley-Davidson® Low Rider® El Diablo near Atlanta before it is no longer available.
